Keeping CHRIST in CHRISTmas

!!!

I am choosing to keep CHRIST in CHRISTmas.  Why?  Because if there was no Christ, there would be no Christmas.  Christ is the reason for the season.  Who's with me?

Just A Few Goals . . .

Here are some of my goals that I have chosen for my life.  Some of these goal, I have already accomplished, but I would like to share it with my readers. I have 5 different categories; Faith, Family, Charity, Art, and Music.  For each category, I have 5 or 6 goals, but I am only listing 1 goal for now.  I can post a list of my other goals later.

Faith:
Bring Someone to Christ

 Family:
Get Married, and NEVER get Divorced

Charity:
Participate in Walk for Life

Art:
Own an Art Museum for Kids

Music:
Play Flight of the Bumblebee

I also have a reflection of my goals and some questions that I will answer about my goals that I have listed above.

Q. What have you learned about creating goals as you have worked on the goals lessons?
A. I have learned better ways about creating goals.  I have found that it is easier for me to complete my goals when I write them down.

Q. What have you learned about yourself and the goals you have as you have worked on the goals lessons?
A. I have learned that I am good about keeping my word, and accomplishing my goals that I set.

Q. Where have you already made the most improvement on the topic of goals and achieving them?
A. I have learned that when I didn't write down my goals, the goals that I had the most problems completing was the music category.  I have a busy schedule and I sometimes forget what music goals I have.  When I wrote them down, I was remembered them and accomplished them.  I have not been able to play Flight of the Bumblebee yet I have other musical goals that I have accomplished.

Maybe using some of the techniques that I have used will help you in completing your goals.  Be sure to comment and share some of the goals that your have accomplished!

Thanks,
Beth

How to Make Homemade (from scratch) Flour Tortillas

Here is a cool recipe that I learned from a friend of mine.  It is Homemade Flour Tortillas.  It is really good and easy to make!  I have only made it twice, so I am not a "pro" yet, but I'll get there sooner or later.

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups all purpose flour (corn, almond, or any other flour of you choice will work also)
  • 2/3 cup warm water
  • 1/4 tablespoons oil (any kind)

Directions:
  1. Mix 1/4 tbs oil and 2/3 c warm water in a glass cup.  Heat in microwave on medium for 1 minute. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, measure out 2 c of flour.  Add 1/2 tsp salt.
  3. Get a clean cookie sheet out.  Take a damp rag or paper towel and wipe down cookie sheet.
  4. Take a small towel (it needs to cover the whole cookie sheet) and get it damp.  Lay it on top of the cookie sheet.
  5. Pour the water and oil mixture into the bowl with the salt and flour.
  6. With clean hands, knead together the ingredients.  make sure that all of the ingredients are incorporated together.  (you wouldn't want a tortilla to be too salty or too oily!)
  7. Take the dough and make medium sized balls. (look below)
  8. Put the balls on the cookie sheet.  Cover with the damp towels.
  9. Let sit for 30 min.  You want to keep the balls damp.
  10. Heat griddle at 350 degrees F.
  11. Flatten the balls and roll the out so they are round and smooth.
  12. Put them on the griddle and flip.  Make sure that they are crisp and they are not burnt.  It is okay that they bubble and have brown dots on them.
